Wawi Navarroza releases ‘Dominion’

MANILA – Photographer Wawi Navarroza has released her first artist book Dominion online.

“This book is a long-time dream of mine and with it, my collective wish for more published author/photobooks coming from this part of the globe . With the recent wake of supertyphoon Glenda, the timing of this release coincides another ‘after the storm’ for us here in the islands and it makes me feel more intensely that this exploration of VOLCANOES and its resonance is—personally and universally—relevant more than ever,” Navarroza said.

The photo book is published by Stephanian in Europe and distributed worldwide by Fish Market in Treviso, Italy.

All copies are dispatched from Europe. In the coming months, copies will be stocked in the Asia Pacific.

Navarroza, who has received a number of awards in the Philippines and abroad, recently founded Studio Wawi Navarroza. The studio is a multi-platform creative space geared towards photography, collaborations, education, special projects; as well as a hub for a growing collection of contemporary photobooks.

Navarroza’s awards include the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ Thirteen Artists Awards national triennial (2012), the winner prize at the Ateneo Art Awards (2007), and the honorary award at Lumi Photographic Art Awards, Helsinki (2011).

In 2012, she completed her scholarship awarded by the Istituto Europeo di Design, Madrid under the program European Master of Fine Art Photography.
