ADFEST 2009 BAGS HEGARTY, TUTSSEL FOR JURY

Rising to the aggressive challenge posed by the relaunched Spikes Asia, ADFEST 2009 has announced two new feathers in its cap: Sir John Hegarty has agreed to be Jury President of Film and Radio, and Mark Tutssel has agreed to be Keynote Speaker, as well as Jury President for Press, Poster and Print Craft.

He has created some of the world’s best-loved ads, including Levi’s “Laundrette” (where a hot young guy strips off his jeans in a small town) and the taglines for Lynx (“The Lynx Effect”) and Audi (‘Vorsprung durch Technik’).  He also cast then-unknown Brad Pitt in what became a celebrated Levi’s ad in 1991. In 2005, he became the third Briton inducted into the American Advertising Hall of Fame, behind fellow legends David Abbott and David Ogilvy.

Tutssel is Global Chief Creative Officer at Leo Burnett, and also one of the world’s most awarded creatives. Since joining Burnett over 20 years ago, Tutssel has picked up the Cannes Grand Prix, 20 Cannes Lions, and four consecutive years as Most Effective Agency in America at the Effie Awards.  When he was Executive Creative Director of Leo Burnett London between 1999 -2001, the agency won an astonishing 135 awards and 15 Grand Prix, making it the world’s most awarded agency in 2001.
