McCann Healthcare Worldwide wins Specialist Agency of the Year for the second consecutive year at MEDIA Agency of the Year

Singapore – McCann Healthcare Worldwide (MHCWW) was named Specialist Agency of the Year at the annual Agency of the Year awards by MEDIA magazine held December 9 at St Regis Hotel in Singapore. More significantly, this is the second year in a row that MHCWW has been presented with the accolade at the leading annual award show -currently in its 16th year- which sets out to recognise the best of Asia Pacific’s advertising industry’s achievers.

Building on its success in 2008, MHCWW broke new ground for the agency and for the industry in 2009 landing multiple key government projects and accounts around the region including the high profile appointment by Japan Ministry of Health to become the ministry’s official agency-of-record in a mega pitch which involved 60 agencies. This appointment also marks the first time a non-Japanese agency has been assigned to such a high-profile task.

MHCWW also achieved impressive growth for commercial business, launching over 20 big brands and secured numerous pipeline assignments. All of which, also resulted in an increase in billings by 31 per cent. In the same year, MHCWW broadened its geographical footprints to include a new branch in Bangalore and an acquisition of a full health service agency in Korea.

At the same award show, Spencer Wong, Managing Director for McCann Worldgroup (Hong Kong) and the National Creative Officer for McCann Hong Kong and China, also beat out leading creative stars in the region to win the coveted Creative of the Year award. This win comes on the back of a year which saw McCann Worldgroup Hong Kong won the first ever Cannes Grand Prix for Greater China under Spencer’s leadership.
