Ogilvy India and Philippines ties up for Cadbury

MANILA, AUGUST 26, 2013 -–  Two Ogilvy offices (India and Philippines) join creative forces
for Cadbury’s ‘Roadtrip’ TV spot.

In the ad,a group of friends embark on a roadtrip singing to the beat of Guns ‘n Roses’ Sweet Child of Mine eating a bar of Cadbury. He stares in envy while carrying out the tune solo.

Ogilvy India has been handling the chocolate brand for more than 25 years. The Philippine office stepped in to help with the initial concept to the final production. Executive director Ogilvy Philippines Richmond Walker said that it is only natural to reach out people who really knew the brand. “At Ogilvy we pride ourselves on the power of the network. We have a lot of very talented people dotted around the globe, so we frequently ignore geography to combine the best team possible for a job,” added Walker.

In the Philippines, Cadbury Dairy Milk  was recently reformulated to be smoother and creamier. “The film is about a taste so smooth and creamy, you lose yourself in the experience. It was not a hard sell,”said Walker. The spot was shot in Thailand and was directed by India’s Vivek Kakkad.

“Of course we went several rounds before we all settled on the final board. And we had to make it through the perils of research. But we are lucky to have clients who can smell a good idea a mile away,” explained Walker.
