Experience hypercreativity at CreativeFest and Kidlat Awards on May 10

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The momentum is gaining within and beyond the creative industry. This May 10, the Creative Guild will host the 2024 CreativeFest and 16th Kidlat Awards at the Ayala Museum, Makati.

With the theme “Hypercreativity,” this year’s event celebrates how creativity in advertising has evolved over the past few years.

“The creative who is ever-evolving and who simply never stays put. This is who we are celebrating and, importantly, the work that comes out of fertile minds. What we are also envisioning this year is a rekindling of our sense of pride and community — that is why we are renewing the CreativeFest. Hoping to inspire and keep the creative fire burning and involving other creatives from industries outside our own,” said Guild President and Havas Ortega Group Executive Creative Director (ECD) Angie Tijam-Tohid.

Kicking off the full-day event is the CreativeFest, composed of a series of panel discussions by hypercreatives and learning sessions by renowned industry heads from around the region. The event will be capped off by the Kidlat Awards Night.

Awarding of Kid Spikes and Kid Lions, the official qualifiers for the 2024 young creative competitions, will also take place during the event.

“I think today is a very rich season for a demonstration of hypercreativity – in its true aspect. Showcasing how we are embracing kindred spirits in craft from other industries as well in our newly launched UNLMTD category. Definitely, we are learning as we go along with this new category. Happy to say that the conversation happening around it is a clear indication that there is so much we haven’t seen and explored yet in creativity,” said Competition Director and Dentsu Creative ECD Gary Amante.

In line with this year’s theme, Kidlat introduced a new category that goes beyond advertising. Creativity UNLMTD accepts entries demonstrating exceptional creativity in all forms and fields. This was opened alongside seven other main categories: Classic Creativity, Creativity in Craft, Creativity in Engagement, Creativity in Entertainment, Creativity in Experience, Creativity in Strategy and Effectiveness, and Creativity for Good.

Kidlat will also feature more diverse jury members from within and outside advertising. Judges will hail from the diverse fields of strategy, music, film, brand, tech, and more to better represent the scope of all categories.

Fellow Director and FCB Manila Chief Creative Officer Jenny Nadong, added, “May 08 is the metal round. we know that the industry will be delighted to see this year’s esteemed jury lineup. We are thrilled to see how this is unfolding. The questions, the clarifications, and all that interest in the upcoming event and the highlights of that event only mean that there is a thirst for the renewal of that creative community spirit, so we encourage colleagues and friends to send their delegations. We are looking at a fun and learning series of talks and discussions from various corners of this big, big world of hypercreativity.”

CreativeFest Delegate Fee is PHP 8,000, exclusive of 12% VAT (inclusive of talks and awards night ticket.)  Meanwhile, Kidlat Awards Night tickets are at PHP 3,500, exclusive of 12% VAT.
