The Linda Kovarik press con: An emotional encounter

Part-Asian.  That’s what Linda Kovarik considers herself.

A twenty-year veteran of the region, Kovarik found herself editing a text book in Manchuria in the late 80s.  Then a fresh graduate, Kovarik never left.   By the looks of it, there is no regret from the South Dakota native.

The animated Kovarik was a sight to behold as she enthralled members of the press.  Emotional Storytelling is her creative tack, and every ounce of the lady is emotive.

"Show, don’t tell.  That’s the first law of journalism.  Evoke emotion, not portray.   The more feelings are evoked in advertising, the greater the sales.  That is a fact."

"Coke in the Philippines pushed boundaries even more, evoking great happiness.  Trailblazing (campaigns) are in the Philippines.  Take the mother directing the happiness of the family.  That moment of happiness at dinnertime is just talking about the happenings of the day.  We’re very proud of that work."

"An angel hears somebody enjoying a Coke, and she looks around to find where the source of that drink is coming from.  That is visually stunning, one of the best-crafted work that we’ve done in Asia Pacific for sure.  My colleagues in Latin America highly praise that work."

"When I started working in Asia, we used to apologize for work to our agencies.  Now Asia has not got anything to apologize for.  We are very emotional people and we are doing some of the best works on the planet."
