Mark Bumgarner is definitely a name to watch out for in the world of high fashion. Known for his reinterpretation of classic feminine looks, his show-stopping creations are worn by a rapidly growing celebrity clientele at the most glamorous and prestigious events across the globe. However, Mark Bumgarner’s prowess is not just limited to the red carpet. In fact, he is bringing his fashion sensibilities over to RTW in collaboration with home-grown fashion brand, Plains & Prints.

The Plains & Prints x Mark Bumgarner collection features 13 designer pieces that include four dresses, five tops, one pantsuit, and three bottoms that lends Mark Bumgarner’s signature aesthetic to pieces that are more casual and wearable.

Mark Bumgarner says some of the designer pieces from the collection were given a dash of Filipino style by incorporating Anahaw and Waling-Waling prints to symbolize the world-class quality of our local designs.

“We took inspiration from the Anahaw because it is our national leaf and is endemic to our islands. We also chose the Waling-Waling prints because it’s considered as the ‘Queen of Philippine Flowers’ and one of the most prized orchids in the world. Along with Plains & Prints, we reinterpreted the elements into something wearable, laid-back, and modern,” Bumgarner says.

Bumgarner adds that the collection is something women can wear from office to cocktails. The pieces are also practical for daily wear as the silhouettes are fun and colorful, with a touch of class.

For the designer, the collaboration with Plains & Prints gives him the opportunity to reach a wider market. “Just like Plains & Prints, my works are all about timelessness and elegance. We both share the same passion of giving women the access to fashionable clothing and I am glad that this collab allowed me to dress up more Filipinas,” says Bumgarner.
