Mobile Marketing Association announces 2011 Asia Pacific Board of Directors

ASIA-PACIFIC – SINGAPORE, APRIL 2011 – The Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) has announced key additions to its 2011 Asia Pacific Board of Directors. The new appointees comprise leaders and innovators in mobile marketing from MMA member companies Blyk, Euro RSCG, Google, InMobi and Maxis Mobile Services Sdn Bhd.

The new appointees include honorary members Andrew Knott, Chief Digital officer, Euro RSCG; Antti Ohrling, Co-founder, Blyk; Atul Satija, VP & Managing Director – Asia Pacific, InMobi; and William Easton, Regional Head of Mobile Sales & Operations (Asia Pacific), Google. Wee Hui Ting (Heather), Head of Mobile Advertising, Maxis Mobile Services (M) Sdn Bhd joins as sustaining member.
 
"For the past five years the MMA has been advocating the role of mobile within the marketing mix and preparing the industry for the time when mobile can be used in every single marketing campaign. We are now at that moment. On the APAC MMA Board – we have a very talented and diverse group representing different parts of the industry and marketing spectrum, so it is a particular honour to be chairing the board this year. We have a lot of work to do. For those brands that grab the mobile opportunity first, there will be significant reward," said Barney Loehnis, Chairman, MMA Asia Pacific Board and Head of Digital, Asia Pacific, OgilvyOne Worldwide.
 
The MMA Asia Pacific board members work together with the MMA Global Board to oversee and guide the Association and its industry initiatives. MMA’s regional agenda includes educating brands, agencies and consumers on the potential of mobile marketing; developing measurement, metrics and insight into the size, growth, trends and effectiveness of mobile marketing; developing industry guidelines, best practices and standards; and helping build bridges between regulators and industry members.
 
The 2011 Asia Pacific Board of Directors line-up includes:
