Dubai and Japan lead Asia in Gerety Awards wins with women-centered campaigns that made waves

PARIS, FRANCE — The Gerety Awards, which brings together all-women juries from all over the world, has unveiled the works that shined the brightest this year. Judged by the originality of their ideas and the level of craft and quality brought on by the execution of the concepts, the winners exemplify what Gerety has always looked for — advertising from a powerful perspective that redefines traditional standards of the industry.

With entries and judging sessions all over the globe, the Gerety Awards pushes for and embodies diversity, and that shows in the many countries represented by its winner’s showcase every year. This year’s winning works come from advertising agencies, advertisers, studios, and production companies worldwide, including 21 metal-worthy entries from across nine Asian countries — Hong Kong, India, Israel, Japan, Lebanon, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, and UAE.

Making the best showing of the region is UAE with five wins — all Silvers — all in all. MullenLowe MENA FZ LLC took home three of the metals for its “Fixing the bAIs” campaign for Aurora50 while “Breakchains With Blockchain” by Horizon FCB Dubai for Children of Female Prisoners’ Association bagged two wins.

Other Asian works that won multiple metals are “The Folded Newspaper” by blanco for LGBT Association from Israel, “Dirty Laundry” by Leo Burnett Beirut for ABAAD Resource Center for Gender Equality from Lebanon, and Innovation Cut Bronze – “Unbranded Menu” by Leo Burnett Group Manila for McDonald’s from the Philippines.
