PHILIPPINES – For its fifth year, Graphika Manila International Multimedia Design Conference brings together another set of respected speakers from the creative industries:
Tara McPherson is a New York City-based artist who exhibits paintings and serigraphs in fine art galleries. She has also designed band posters, created toys, and painted comics. Her art was featured in the Oscar Award winning film Juno.
Danny Yount is a designer, photographer and director who has won several notable industry awards for his work. His sequences for feature film Iron Man were profiled in Creativity Magazine’s top 5 and his opening sequence of HBO’s Six Feet Under won him an Emmy.
Phunk Studio is a contemporary art and design collective based in Singapore. Dubbed “Asia’s hottest agency" by Computer Arts UK, their visual signature emcompasses Asia and Western themes, attracting international brands such as Nike, Nokia, and MTV.
Underground Logic is a leading creative design, visual effects and editorial house in the Philippines and in the region.
Husband-and-wife art and design team Arnold and Cynthia Arre collaborate on print, web design and other creative projects in their home-based studio. Arnold is best known for his graphic novels, Cynthia for her music packaging designs.
Rocketsheep post spearheaded by Avid Liongoren will talking about their project Saving Sally, an indie film about love, monsters and gadgets. Liongoren will also discuss developments in film over the years.
Graphika Manila, a premier event of Manila Design week, takes place on August 7 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex.
