Big jobs in data analytics

“Big Data is the biggest game-changing opportunity for marketing and sales since the Internet went mainstream almost 20 years ago,” wrote book author Jonathan Gordon in Forbes.com.

And of course, Gordon, the author of the multimedia eBook Big Data, Analytics and the Future of Marketing & Sales, has the numbers to back up this claim.

“Those that use Big Data and analytics effectively show productivity rates and profitability that are five to six percent higher than those of their peers,” revealed Gordon.

“McKinsey&Company analysis of more than 250 engagements over five years has revealed that companies that put data at the center of the marketing and sales decisions improve their marketing return on investment (MROI) by 15 to 20 percent. That adds up to $150-$200 billion of additional value based on global annual marketing spend of an estimated $1 trillion.”

Needless to say, data analytics specialist is the job of the future. Canadian-based The Globe and Mail even ran a story on this last year proclaiming it as “the fastest growing job market you’ve never heard of.” “It could well be the fastest-growing job market most have never heard of, with demand so intense that the number of people employed in the field doubled in 2011 and will likely double again in four years,” reported Virginia Galt.

Current trends indicate that 4,000 new positions are being created annually. A labor expert even projected that there will be a shortfall of at least 20,000 data analytics specialists over the next five years in Canada alone. And the demand has exploded across all industries in the world.
