GLOBAL – APRIL 14, 2011 – New York Festivals International Advertising Awards 2011 has released the initial batch of finalists. There are 109 shortlisted entries in Outdoor, 142 in Print, 33 in Radio and 125 in TV/Cinema/Promo. The New York Festivals Advertising Awards 2011 will take place on May 4 and 5 at the Skylight West in New York City.
The Philippines has five finalists so far, tied at third with Hong Kong and Indonesia for the country with the most finalists from Asia after Singapore, which leads with eight, and the two-way tie of Japan and Thailand with six finalists each.
DM9 JaymeSyfu’s "Rollercoaster" for MINI received a nod in Outdoor; Y&R Philippines’ "Sign-off Static" for Colgate in TV/Cinema. In Print, Campaigns& Grey’s "Face" for Cetaphil joins DM9 JaymeSyfu’s "Cinema" single print ad for Pharex, as well as the full Pharex campaign "Center of Attention" in the shortlist.
Among Asian agencies, Y&R Indonesia, which monopolized the country’s five finalists, and Leo Burnett Group Thailand, which took five of Thailand’s six entries, appear the strongest performers so far. The list of Asian finalists in Outdoor, Print, Radio and TV/Cinema follows.
