Ogilvy leads Digital Media Awards shortlist; BBDO Guerrero, Tribal DDB, WPP Ford team land finalists

ASIA-PACIFIC – OCTOBER 2011: The Digital Media Awards, now on its fifth year of honoring the Asia Pacific’s best work in digital marketing, has released its shortlists in both the sector and media categories. Over 130 finalists have been named from 11 countries, led by China with 24 media and 13 sector finalists, Singapore with 11 media and 9 sector finalists, Hong Kong with 11 media and 7 sector finalists and Australia with 15 media and 2 sector finalists.

Among the networks, Ogilvy collected the most nods–14 in media and 8 in the sector shortlist. The DDB Group follows closely with 11 media and 10 sector shortlists. BBDO/Proximity comes in third with 12 media and 5 sector shortlist mentions.

In the sector awards, BBDO Guerrero’s "Changing World" for FedEx earned a place in the B2B category; Tribal DDB and DDB Philippines’ "Be Gerald’s Girl" for Maybelline was cited in FMCG. "Fueling the Ford Fiesta Frenzy via Digital" by WPP X Team Manila for Ford Philippines is a finalist in Best use of social media under the media category.

Top campaigns earning the most finalists include Proximity China / Goodstein & Partners’ "The People’s Car Project for Volkswagen with nine nods, Tribal DDB/ DDB Group Singapore’s "Flip Your Profile" for Cisco comes in next with six. Tribal DDB/DDB Group Hong Kong’s "The Escape" for Intel and UM/McCann Worldgroup Hong Kong’s "Chok" summer 2011 campaign for Coca-Cola both earned four finalists. Other notable brands include Levi’s, with four finalists in total from TBWATEQUILA Hong Kong, three of them for "Levi’s Soundwash" and Johnnie Walker, with four mentions, one for "Step Inside" by Irisnation Singapore and three for "Johnnie Walker Walks the Talk in China" by Ogilvy Shanghai.
