Inspired by their personal experiences and collective thoughts of their colleagues and friends in the industry, Cuison and Sta. Maria narrate in rhythm the feelings of an advertising practitioner during extended work hours in the office and missed personal appointments due to pitches.

On the songs’ inspiration, Cuison shared, “We just noticed that there’s no song that touches the heart, experiences and insights of the advertising people. A lot of songs have been written about the high school life, OFWs, farmers, the life of a political activist, and the closet gays and lesbians. But there has never been any song about the advertising practitioners.”

“We took it as an opportunity. It’s like a new category. Untapped! We want it to become the official sound track of the advertising people,” he continued.

With their new band, Cuison aims to perform in every advertising event in the country to extend their message to the industry people.

Sta. Maria, on the other hand, believes that the advertising industry is more than just an industry, it a way of life. Thus, this inspires them to start a new band. “A life lived creatively through the practice of Advertising. That’s what we’re all about,” he concluded.

The Advertising Band of the Philippines will have their first gig tomorrow at the Lakihan Mo Logo / adobo Magazine Mad About Awards at the Live Vibe, A-Venue Mall in Makati.
