Publicis Manila, Hit Productions and Pabrika ramp up Nestle Kimy ice cream spot with CGI

MANILA, OCTOBER 8, 2012 – At a time when series adventure/fantasy movies are all the rage, a new campaign from Nestlé Ice Cream draws on this hype and re-launches Nestlé KIMY ice cream.

In this re-launch, Kimy, the lovable Eskimo kid that’s the face of Nestlé KIMY ice cream, has grown up into a teenager who’s ready for adventure. And adventure came in the form of a medallion with the letter ‘K’ embedded on it and a mission to save a frozen princess and a kingdom.

The series of spots start out with a short history on the princess’ fate and how the kingdom’s five treasures (the ice creams!) were released to unknown parts of the world. And just like a true hero, Kimy, takes it upon himself to recover the lost treasure and restore the kingdom.

The spot no longer uses 2D animation that became the trademark of Kimy ice cream. The campaign by Publicis Manila, in partnership with Pabrika (production) and Hit Productions (audio), uses computer-generated imagery, making the adventure seem like an actual movie and not a 30-second spot.

The adventure starts with ‘Swirl Adventure’ and as of this writing, the Swirl, Krazy Banana and Lava ice cream sticks have already been discovered. Two more are waiting Kimy’s discovery as the saga continues.
