THE PHILIPPINES, JUNE 1, 2012: A welcome addition to National Geographic Channel’s June line up is "Islands Insider," a series that showcases a different take on the distinct and cultural travel destinations in the Philippines.
Produced by Extra Mile Productions and hosted by Ginggay Hontiveros, the series places great emphasis on the who, what, why, and how aspects of the different tourist spots in the country.
With the full support of the Department of Tourism, the show seeks to reveal the cultural and historical bases of the sites, elevate the issues hand in hand with the natural beauty, so that the viewer achieves a more comprehensive appreciation of the national treasures in the Philippines.
The show is presented in semi-documentary form, with interviews and sound bytes from different local characters and experts along with vivid images.
The first six episodes of the series will feature Batad, Taal, Coron, Siquijor, Mt.Pulag, and Anilao. Islands Insiders is scheduled for a release sometime this June.
