adobo Design Awards 2014 reveals shortlist

MANILA – Headed by design guru Lucille Tenazas, this year’s powerhouse jury completed the selection process for the fifth adobo Design Awards today, shortlisting 79 out of over 350 entries.
 
TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno had the most number of finalists, with 12 shortlisted entries, followed by JWT Manila with nine finalists, and Leo Burnett Manila with six.
 
 
This year’s awards had 17 categories, with the most number of finalists in the Press & Poster category, where 15 entries made it to the shortlist. Two entries made the shortlist for the Single Logo category, while three made the shortlist for the Applied Logo category. There was only one finalist in the Typography category.
 
There was also only one finalist in the Applied Typography category. Eight entries were short listed in the Illustration category, while there were four for Book Design; two for Editorial Design; and one for Collaterals. 
 
There were no finalists for Commercial Photography, Editorial Photography, while there were two finalists for Digital Imaging.
 
Nine entries were shortlisted for the Digital/Interactive category.
 
There were two finalists for Packaging; five for Outdoor/Ambient; eight for Environmental/Spatial Design; two for Product Design; two for Wearable Design; none for Production Design; two for Music Video or Audio; four for Animated Video; and two for Short Film.
 
In the Open/Theme category, Design for the Future, four entries made the shortlist, including ‘LRT Foodtrip: A mobile application’ from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde student Ma. Therese Valmonte.
 

The winners will be announced during the awards ceremony on March 28, to be held at the Ayala Museum.
