International AME Awards announces GrandJury Members from Philippines

GLOBAL – NEW YORK, USA, AUGUST 30, 2010 –  The 2011 AME Awards for Advertising & Marketing Effectiveness, now in its 16th year of honoring “The World’s Most Effective Advertising”, announced the GrandJury members from the Philippines.  David Guerrero, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of BBDO Guerrero/Proximity, was named AME Asia Pacific GrandJury President.   Merlee Cruz-Jayme, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of DDB DM9 JaymeSyfu, and Jerry C. Cocabo Yao, CEO/President/Owner of JEDI Trainings, Marketing & Management Services were also announced as GrandJury members. 
 
“We’re incredibly excited to have David Guerrero as this year’s Asia Pacific Jury President.  His impressive track record in the field of advertising effectiveness makes him the perfect candidate to head up this year’s esteemed jury,” said Michael O’Rourke, President of International Awards Group.

David Guerrero heads one of the most awarded creative agencies in Asia, and since founding his agency in 1998, has remained a constant in Campaign Brief Asia’s regional top 20.  His agency is the country’s leader in effectiveness, and has recently been named Agency of the Year in the Philippines by the country’s 4As. 
 
Merlee Cruz-Jayme won the McDonald’s business for DDB Philippines four years after starting DDB DM9 JaymeSyfu, an affiliate of DDB Worldwide.  Her stellar rise resulted in her agency being named Number One Advertising Agency in the Philippines by Campaign Brief Asia.  
  
Jerry Yao, CEO/President/Owner of JEDI Trainings, is the Director of the Philippine Marketing Association and part time Professor at Polytechnic University of the Philippines, and Liceo de Pulilan College.  Mr. Yao is a member of the Association for Marketing Educators. 
 
In 2011, AME introduced an enhanced scoring process designed to improve the accuracy of each entry’s score.  GrandJury members will evaluate entries using four sections, each with individual scoring weights. 
 
Last year AME Awards introduced regional competitions and juries, allowing entries to be judged with cultural relevance within their own regions: Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America, Middle East & Africa, and North America.
