Song Zu’s Ramesh Sathiah to lead LIA 2013 TV/Cinema/Online Film – Music & Sound jury

GLOBAL – UNITED KINGDOM, JANUARY 30, 2013 – Song Zu partner/creative director Ramesh Sathiah has been appointed to lead the prestigious London International Awards 2013 jury for TV, cinema, online film – music and sound.

Song Zu is Australasia’s most awarded music and sound design company with studios in both Sydney and Singapore.

Sathiah obtained a Bachelor of Music at Southern Cross University, before working in studios throughout Sydney as an engineer/producer for various Australian artists as well as his own band, which were then signed with Warner Music.

He joined Song Zu at age 23 and by 25 was made creative director of the Singapore operation. At that time he worked on some of the biggest campaigns in the world including Motorola (directed by Oliver Stone), Singapore Airlines, Nokia and countless others.

Currently based at Song Zu Sydney, Sathiah has won a string of Awards for his recent work including Smirnoff featuring Pharrell Williams and Bundy 5 (Ain’t No Nancy Drink), the latter winning a London International Award, a Gold Clio, an AWARD award and two AdFest awards.

“The Music and Sound category for TV/Cinema/Online Film is relatively new as an independent category for LIA and generated some zealous debate in the 2012 judging room," said Barbara Levy, LIA president. "Music and sound plays a hugely important role in advertising and communications and is not always given the recognition it deserves for its creative impact on audience. We invited Ramesh to chair this year’s jury because we felt that his passion and extensive experience in the music industry would ensure that the same attention, enthusiasm and passion continues on in the 2013 judging room. We are absolutely thrilled that Ramesh has accepted.”

Sathiah said: "I am thrilled to be invited to be Jury President, it really is an honour and I am looking forward to being inspired by the best work in the world and meeting everyone else on the Jury. It’s going to really suck going to Vegas though…"
