4As Agency of the Year clarifies its position as the Philippines’ one and only

MANILA, APRIL 8, 2013 – The Philippines’ most-awaited Agency of the Year 2012 awards show is now calling for entries. Organized by the 4As, this year’s run is described by the tagline: “The Philippines’ one and only agency of the year”.

One and only

The country’s long-running Agency of the Year awards has made its mark in the local ad industry. In  fact, the shiny, silver plate of a trophy is a good indicator for any client of the agency’s caliber.

A marketing magazine launched their version of an agency of the year awards show so clarifications had to be made, said 4As chair Matec Villanueva. “They made claims that seemed to ignore the fact that the 4A’s AOY has been in place for the past decade. [The tagline] is our way of clarifying things and asserting the ownership of the AOY.”

The 2013 run

Judging from last year’s winners, it seems that the AOY is a show largely dominated by the tried and tested creative, media and production houses but Villanueva wants to dispell this notion. “We are pushing for more of the medium and local shops to participate as they, in fact, have just as good a chance or even better of winning versus the big MNC(s),” she said.
