AdBoard names Jones Campos as new Executive Director

PHILIPPINES, JANUARY 25, 2011 – The Advertising Board of the Philippines (AdBoard) welcomes Jones T. Campos as its new Executive Director, replacing Alex Castro III who served the AdBoard as executive director for three years.

Reporting functionally to the incumbent Corporate Secretary, Rick Hawthorne, Campos is tasked to ensure the efficiency of the day-to-day services in the marketing communications industry’s fast-paced and competition-driven environment. Also, as Asst. Corporate Secretary of the AdBoard, he shall be the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Administrator of the AdBoard Secretariat.

Foremost in Campos’ priorities is making relevant a revived AdBoard with its mission to unite, convene and uphold the policy of self-regulation in the marketing communications industry. To keep up with the times, the AdBoard will see to it that integrated marketing communications (IMC) becomes, not only as a popular buzz word, but an effective and feasible mantra in doing modern and successful business.

Another big challenge for the new E.D. is the staging of the 22nd Philippine Advertising Congress to be held in November 2011, chaired by Philippine Daily Inquirer’s President and CEO Sandy Prieto-Romualdez along with the prominent people in the media sector.
“We will be very busy in 2011 and we hope to take advantage of the many new developments happening – in business, politics, in the economy – being initiated by the new administration” said Kahn. “Hopefully, we are able to contribute to the call of positive change (pagbabago)”, he added.

Campos was formerly Globe Telecom’s head of public relations and has been in the telecoms industry for more than twenty years.  He had been a devout practitioner in the marketing communications industry through his active participation and leadership in PANA (Philippine Association of National Advertisers), the Public Relations Society of the Phils. (PRSP), and AdBoard.

The AdBoard is composed of the following organizations: Philippine Association of National Advertisers (PANA), Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies-Philippines (4As), Media Specialists Association of the Philippines (MSAP), United Print Media Group (UPMG), Cinema Advertising Association of the Philippines (CAAP), Outdoor Advertising Association of the Philippines (OAAP), Independent Blocktimers Association of the Philippines (IBA), Advertising Suppliers Association of the Philippines (ASAP), Marketing and Opinion Research Society of the Philippines (MORES), and Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP).
