10 Cynthia Villar 11,069,716

11 Joseph Victor Ejercito 11,010,154

12 Gregorio Honasan 10,620,645

It’s interesting to take a look at the most recent social-media and online analysis our colleagues at Ci-8 have been engaged in, and compare how some the top 12 candidates did in this analysis to how they actually performed during the elections proper.

(Click the picture above for a better look at the infographic.)

Based on Ci-8’s findings, the online buzz does not appear to coincide with the actual electoral results. None of the top three senatorial candidates according to positive online sentiment – Eddie Villanueva, Teodoro Casino and Risa Hontiveros – won a Senate seat in this year’s elections.

The front-runner in terms of actual votes, Grace Poe, only had 3.06 percent of positive online mentions.

Additionally, some of those candidates who did win Senate seats did not figure in Ci-8’s top 12, such as Nancy Binay, Trillanes, Ejercito and Honasan.

Overall, of the 12 eventual Senators, only six of them – Ejercito, Angara, Legarda, Aquino, Poe and Pimentel – are also in Ci-8’s top 12.
