New leadership at the Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines

The Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP) kicked off its Thirsty Thursdays, a monthly networking event with guest speakers, with its 1st General Membership Meeting and induction of the 2011 IMMAP Board of Directors, led by new AdBoard Chair Andre Kahn.

The gavel was passed from 2010 president, Donald Lim to Hans Roxas-Chua (Blue Blade Technologies Inc), president for 2011.

The 2011 board  is made up of Norman Agatep (Euro RSCG), Jojit Alcazar (Smart Communications), Norelyn Babiera (Fiera de Manila), Manny Fernando (MegaMobile), Leah Besa-Jimenez (Proximity Philippines), Jack Madrid (Yahoo! Philippines), Ed Mapa (Media Contacts), Mike Palacios (Havoc Digital Inc.), TJ Parpan (DentsuINDIO), Paul John Pena (Globe Telecom), Luis Paolo Pineda (ABS-CBN), Javier Vicente “JV” Rufino (Inquirer Publications Group), Janette Toral (DigitalFilipino.com), and Elaine Uy (MRM Worldwide).

2010 was a very good year for IMMAP, seeing tremendous success in its Digital Marketing program with Ateneo de Manila University, a partnership with Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) for its Digital PR certification program, and a IMMAP Summit.

For 2011 the association’s priorities will be on Audience Measurement, Self-Regulation, and Events and Education. Its Digital PR certification program with PRSP starts this month, followed by a Digital marketer program with PANA. There are also forums being organized where speakers will be brought in or Skyped for short learning sessions. There are plans to educate via other forms of media, including talks for a show on ANC and a column in the Inquirer and other publications.

Kahn hinted that IMMAP will be playing a major role in the upcoming Advertising Congress slated for November.

The final part of the ceremony ended by honoring their first batch of graduates of their Digital Marketing Program with Ateneo de Manila University. With Roxas-Chua’s speech remarking on how young the association is compared to its partners, IMMAP is growing up quickly as society embraces mobile and the internet.
