THE PHILIPPINES, MARCH 14, 2012: Fans of the Philippine fashion brand Bench could now help give PHP1 million to a charity or foundation through micro-blogging site Twitter.
Through the help of its celebrity endorsers, Bench picked 15 foundations, one of which will be endowed PHP1 million at the end of the 1M for 1M campaign. The campaign is also a part of a year-long celebration of Bench’s silver year in the business.
The campaign, which began last January, will donate PHP1 for every new Twitter follower of @benchtm through the following process: (1) Visit www.benchtm.com/1M41M and then log in via Twitter (or create an account); (2) Follow @benchtm. If the user is already following @benchtm, he/she will see a grayed out button; (3) Choose a celebrity/charity from the poll list.
Once the vote has been completed, a button with which to send a Tweet saying “I follow @benchtm and voted for Celebrity Name for Charity Name via http://www.benchtm.com/1M41M #Bench1M41M” will be made active.
The first 100,000 followers of @benchtm will be equivalent to PHP100,000, to be given to the charity with most votes. Each additional 100,000 followers, with a ceiling of one million followers, will merit another PHP100,000.
