WPP merges Redworks, Hogarth to form H&O

LONDON — WPP has merged two of its production units, Ogilvy & Mather’s Redworks and Hogarth Worldwide, to launch Hogarth & Ogilvy (H&O).

Headquartered in London, H&O will stand alongside Hogarth with a presence in 48 Ogilvy offices, creating what the WPP bills as the largest marketing implementation group in the world.

From a staff of 14 back in 2008, Hogarth now oversees over 1,200 employees servicing such major clients as Dyson, GSK, Mattel, Vodafone and others across 21 offices in all four regions of the world.

Leading the group will be Jonathan Adler as H&O’s Global CEO, together with RedWorks’ regional president Michael Burgess as CEO of H&O in Asia Pacific.

“The opportunity to combine two great global companies was irresistible, and I am extremely excited about what the future holds for H&O, helping deliver Ogilvy’s vision of the future,” Adler said.

Among H&O’s services include “complex CGI, high end post production, fast turnaround online content, global integrated campaigns and simple local productions,” according to statement released in the Redworks website.

Ginny Maycox, currently COO of O&M West, will move on as Global CFO and Duncan Stokes, Global CEO of RedWorks, who will lead H&O in EAME.

RedWorks veteran Xavier Carou will be CEO in Latin America while in North America, Matt Bonin will be Chief Production Officer and Jonathan Parker will be Chief Operations Officer.

“H&O is our response to the ever-changing needs of our clients, and our growing role as content producers and distributors,” said Miles Young, Worldwide Chairman and CEO of Ogilvy & Mather.

“I have always believed that to be a truly integrated world-class communications agency, we need to be best-in-class in each and every one of our specialist disciplines,” he adds.

Barry Jones, CEO of Hogarth Worldwide explains his reasons for choosing to partner with O&M: “H&O is a new concept. It puts a creative realization engine at the heart of a creative powerhouse. With Hogarth going from strength to strength, having H&O in parallel gives us the opportunity to bring all of our capabilities directly to Ogilvy’s clients.”
