Omnicom Group names APIMA Regional Financial Controller

ASIA-PACIFIC, SEPTEMBER 2011: Li Wei Tan has been named Regional Financial Controller of Omnicom Group Inc.’s Asia Pacific India Middle East Africa (APIMA) operations, effective immediately.

Based in Singapore, Omnicom Group’s APIMA headquarters, Tan is tasked with overseeing the financial and operational reporting process, as well as managing the planning and forecasting functions.

Commenting on the appointment Omnicom APIMA Chief Financial Officer Dara Akbarian said, "Our decision to select Singapore as our planning and strategic center for the region was driven by the incredibly strong and culturally diverse talent pool available in Singapore. Li Wei will help build and lead a financial team focused on Omnicom’s operations in the Asia Pacific region.”

As Regional Financial Controller, Tan will also work on other regional initiatives, including agency governance, strategic partnerships, corporate M&A and investment opportunities.  Her primary focus will be on Greater China and select South East Asian markets where Omnicom’s regional and global clients are rapidly building their presence. 

Tan joins Omnicom Group from Ong&Ong Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based architectural firm where she managed the company’s financial stewardship and acquisition efforts both locally and regionally. Tan previously spent four years at Dentsu, Young & Rubicam Singapore as Finance Director, overseeing financial operations and corporate M&A initiatives, and three years with Lowe as Regional Financial Controller, responsible for financial stewardship of the Asia Pacific Region. Tan began her career in public accounting with KPMG, Singapore.
