Team Manila creates awareness through design

PHILIPPINES, MARCH 2011 – Local lifestyle brand and graphic design studio Team Manila has collaborated with a diverse line-up of cause-oriented organizations resulting in a series of works that are both socially-aware as they are creative. This two-way partnership series has allowed the traditional t-shirt medium to be a dynamic canvas for co-branding to bring out any organization’s message of goodwill – be it by donating a portion of the proceeds or by hosting an advocacy-based event. This is also the design team’s way of “giving back” to the Filipino community that has inspired and nurtured them since their humble beginnings.

For the Yuchengo Group of Companies’ program called "Buhay Rizal" – raising awareness and encouraging children into following the six values imbibed by our national hero, Jose Rizal – Team Manila  created products such as shirts and bags, the proceeds of which would be used to purchase Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo books for our country’s public schools.
 
Another foundation aimed at getting more impoverished children to school on the tertiary level, the Tapulanga Foundation through one of its generous benefactors and world-renowed  bag designer, Rafe Totengco, invited Team Manila to collaborate in producing and selling merchandise aimed at this. Team Manila then produced a limited edition shirt package which were then sold at Team Manila stores and contributed to the foundation’s objective of sending fifty young students to college for one year.
