‘Be Hated’ at the Singapore Media Awards 2011

ASIA-PACIFIC – SINGAPORE, MAY 2011 – The Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Singapore’s Singapore Media Awards (SMA) returns for its 7th year. In-line with SMA’s tongue-in-cheek campaigns in the past, JWT has conceptualized a controversial “Be Hated” campaign, which will unfold from now to September.

The 4As now accepts advertising campaign entries for up to 21 awards including single media and specialist campaign categories, Special Achievement Awards (SAA), the prestigious Media Agency of the Year, and the Grand Prix for the overall best media campaign. Closing dates are June 27 for SAA nominations and July 4 for single media and specialist categories.

Judged by industry veterans from both the agency and client’s end, the winners will be revealed at the Awards Gala Night on September 2.

“SMA celebrates outstanding work, great thinking and the skillful blend of art and science to create powerful and accountable media solutions for our clients. These awards are critical for our industry as they provide a platform to formally recognize the great talent in Singapore,” commented Leela Nair, Managing Director of MindShare Singapore, who is at the helm of this year’s SMA.

The SMA honors the achievements made by media professionals and puts emphasis on the crucial function the media plays in contributing to the success of advertising campaigns. More than 400 guests from advertising and media agencies together with client marketers and media owners will attend the annual gala event.
