ASIA-PACIFIC – After five days of judging sessions, the full list of ADFEST Lotus finalists was revealed in Tokyo. The 2,708 entries were whittled down to 326 finalists in 14 categories.
“This year, we have only given away awards to the very best pieces of work. So if you win something at ADFEST this year, it will be very precious,” says Ted Lim, jury president of Press Lotus and Poster Lotus, and Naga DDB Malaysia executive creative director and deputy chairman.
Japan leads with 62 shortlisted entries, followed by Thailand and India with 56 apiece. The Philippines received a total of 17 mentions.
Two Philippine campaigns were shortlisted in the Press category: Ace Saatchi & Saatchi’s "Our Ride" campaign for Vespa and its singles "Our Ride She Hated" and "Our Ride Behind"; TBWASantiago Mangada Puno’s "Flowers" campaign for Boysen and its single ads "Boysen Violet" and "Boysen Lily". The latter version was also shortlisted in the Poster category.
Ace Saatchi and Saatchi also picked up two places in the Outdoor shortlist and another two in the Print Craft shortlist for The North Face. DM9 JaymeSyfu and Leo Burnett Manila both have two mentions. TBWASantiago Mangada Puno is the only Philippine finalist in Film for "Good Fight". BBDO Guerrero/Proximity Philippines’ "Lola Techie" for Bayan DSL is one of the only five finalists for the 360 Lotus.
The ADFEST Lotus awardees will be announced beginning Monday, July 26.
