Adobo Run: After Dark launched at R.O.X. High Street

PHILIPPINES, OCTOBER 1, 2010 – Adobo magazine held a press conference to announce Adobo Run: After Dark, its night run event, at R.O.X. High Street last Wednesday, September 28, 2010.  The press con was attended by members of the press, bloggers, and runners, with 2008 Binibining Pilpinas-International, Patricia Fernandez, hosting.

Adobo’s founder and editor-in-chief, Angel Guerrero introduced the run as part of the magazine’s thrust for community. “Effective industry is based on communities, on meeting new people and working together as one.”

In line with this, the run is open for everyone to join. It will be a major event that will also have live music, a bazaar, and treats and prizes for participants. There are also special costume categories for runners, as the run falls on October 30, 2010, right before Halloween. Even the waterboys will be in costume, so they won’t be missed.

Joey Ong, ECD of Bates 141, unveiled plans to advertise the run virally, by planting pajama runners in other daytime runs. Bates 141 is also overseeing the Adobo Run campaign, "Anong Habol Mo?", where participants are encouraged to design their own bib at the event’s official website. “You can put anything on it: girls, boys, money, a dream.” says Ong.

Race director Ian Alacar from Without Limits assures that no one will get lost or left behind, as the entire route will be marshaled and marked for the night.

Proceeds of the event will go to Formula Juan, a movement for LPG-run public transport jeepneys.
