Advertising TV drama series “Mad Men” wins its third Golden Globe

Perhaps a sign of another award-laden year, “Mad Men” wins Best Dramatic TV series for the third time in the annual Golden Globes.  Picking up the trophy was creator and show-runner Matthew Weiner.

The U.S. TV series made its debut in July 2007 and completed its third season in November 2009.  Since then, “Mad Men” has won a string of Golden Globe and Emmy Awards, garnering 58 nominations and 31 wins.

Revolving around an advertising agency on Madison Avenue, New York City set in the 1960s, “Mad Men” is acclaimed for its story and characters, more so for its historical authenticity and visual style.  The series won against worthy opposition of good storytelling set in contemporary times.
