BBDO Guerrero/Proximity Philippines to proceed with DOT Country Branding Campaign pitch

THE PHILIPPINES, AUGUST 2011 – From the seven agencies shortlisted for the Department of Tourism’s Country Branding Campaign pitch, BBDO Guerrero/Proximity Philippines is the only agency left in the running for the presentation in September. This was announced by the former DOT Secretary Alberto Lim on the ANC program Headstart last week.

According to sources, the five other shortlisted agencies which withdrew were Dentsu, McCann, J. Romero, JWT and Lowe. Y&R was the only other agency which submitted but was disqualified for undisclosed reasons.

BBDO Guerrero is the agency behind the former DOT Sec. Dick Gordon’s "WOW Philippines" tourism campaign, as well as the earlier "More than the usual" campaign.

The DOT may or may not award the account to BBDO after the presentation, and in the case of the latter, a new pitch may be called.
