PHILIPPINES – For the first time, Filipino competitors have a shot at the 12th DigiCon6 Animation and Movie Awards in Tokyo, Japan. Digital filmmakers and animators will go up against other content creators from Hong Kong, China, India, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.
The Philippine leg of the competition is open to all Filipino amateur and professional digital content creators. Eligible entries include computer graphic animations (2D/3D), live-action films shot or edited by digital movie equipment and all 3D-rendered films (including stop-motion and clay-animation).
A panel of judges from Japan will evaluate the entries. The top three winners will receive cash prizes, a Bamboo Fun Touch Tablet from Ynzal Marketing Corp. and advanced seminar courses from the Philippine Center for Creative Imaging. The Gold Prize winner will receive an invitation to the Award Ceremony in Tokyo, Japan on November 19, 2010.
Deadline of submission of entries is on July 31, 2010. DigiCon is organized regionally by the Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) and in the Philippines by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM).
