ASIA-PACIFIC – BEIJING, CHINA, DECEMBER 9, 2010 – Y&R China has appointed Charles Sampson as its new CEO. Sampson, previously CEO for Saatchi & Saatchi Beijing, will have overall responsibility for Y&R’s China offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou beginning January 2011.
Sampson has spent the last 10 years in China working for Saatchi & Saatchi, and prior to that, headed up the agency’s office in Poland as well as working for them in London.
Commenting on his appointment, Sampson said, “After many happy and successful years at Saatchi & Saatchi I am attracted to the challenge that this new position offers. Matt and the team have a clear vision and Y&R is a brand which has been building strong momentum in the last couple of years, both in the region and in China. I am excited about being part of the continued success of Y&R."
