Creative Guild announces Kidlat Awards Festival 2010: Pure Creativity, deadline for entries January 29

Since 1984, the Creative Guild has promoted Filipino creativity as part of the country’s 4As and Advertising Board (AdBoard).   From its founding, the Creative Guild annually awards the best work in the advertising and related industries, making it one of the most prestigious in the Philippines.

As an unequalled opportunity for the advertising industry’s creative leaders to review the year’s best work, network and learn from some of the leading professionals in the industry, the Creative Guild includes some of their best counterparts in the region.

Expected to join in Kidlat Awards Festival 2010: Pure Creativity are Tay Guan Hin of JWT Asia Pacific, who is also heading the Outdoor jury at Cannes Lions this year; Eugene Cheong of Ogilvy Asia Pacific, Asia’s most awarded copywriter, as well as Marcus Rebeschini from Y&R Asia Pacific, who has previously been named ‘Advertising Person of the Year’ by Campaign Brief Asia.

Following a recent tradition started in 2008, the Kidlat Awards Festival will again be at the Boracay Regency Hotel this year, from April 12 to 14.

Two teams of Philippine Young Creatives can enter the Cannes Lions Festival in June this year to compete in the Film and the Cyber categories, funded by the Creative Guild and generous industry sponsors.

For 2010, the Creative Guild has expanded Outdoor, Integrated and Direct competitions, adding more technical and craft awards, as well.

As an ode to the end of the ‘Noughties’, the Creative Guild will choose the Kidlat Ads of the Decade in TV, Radio and Print.   What seems light years away, these were the only categories with awards up for grabs in 2000.

This year’s Creative Guild Board include: President is David Guerrero of BBDO Guerrero/ Proximity Philippines, Vice President Kat Limchoc of PC&V, Director for Communications Dave Ferrer of JWT, Director for Young Creatives Ompong Remigio of Campaigns and Grey, and Director for Industry Noel Bermejo of McCann Erickson.  The Co-directors for Competition are Eugene Demata of DM9 JaymeSyfu, Jake Tesoro of TBWASMP, and Raoul Panes of Leo Burnett.

Deadline for entries is on January 29, 2010.  Early delegate bookings make you the first to head to the beach.  Contact Vanne Tomada via email: 4asp@pldtdsl.net or call +63 2 813 1205.
