DDB China is Ad Age China Agency of the Year

ASIA-PACIFIC, JANUARY 2011 – Once considered a tyke in the highly competitive agency world of China, DDB China has grown by leaps and bounds. AdAge China has named it agency of the year, just the cherry on top of an already rich 2010 for the agency.

In June 2010, DDB China won a Gold Lion for its Green Pedestrian Crossing, the first for DDB and only the second Gold Lion won for China. The campaign also won Golds at Spikes Asia, the Grand Prix at the China 4As Golden Seal Creative Awards and, most recently, five metals, including one Gold at the global Advertising and Marketing Effectiveness Awards.

DDB China is noted for successful digital campaigns such as Unilever Lipton’s "Cup of Greetings" and their controversial McDonald’s campaign for discounted chicken wings, where competitor coupons were honored for discounts on their own chicken wings.

DDB China clients include McDonald’s Corp., Volkswagen, PepsiCo, Unilever, Philips and Huawei Technologies. It created the first brand campaign for the People’s Republic of China for improving the country’s overseas image.
