GLOBAL – Getty Images, a leading image provider, recently announced the release of its free app, which brings the same search capabilities of the Getty Images web site and its collection of editorial creative and archive images to the iPad. The Getty Images app. It enables users to search, sign in to their Getty Images accounts, save to a lightbox, and customize your gallery page to see all of the latest or keyword-specific images. It also allows users to share images via email, compare up to four images side by side, and see random search results by shaking the iPad.
Getty Images designed the app based on customer research where more than half of those surveyed responded that they currently use their mobile device to look at stock media websites. The app was designed and developed in conjunction with Ubermind of Seattle. It is now available for download from the App Store. A similar free app is being developed for the iPhone.
