Grey Delhi hires Amit Shankar as executive creative director

ASIA-PACIFIC –  Grey Delhi has appointed Amit Shankar as executive creative director and creative head. 

Amit began his career with Percept Advertising in 1996 working on clients including Siemens Telecom Limited, Honda Motors and Coca Cola. Amit is also no stranger to Grey where he spent five years of his career working with the agency on clients like Samsung, Revlon, Hindustan Times, Domino’s, Aaj Tak, Indian Airlines, Business Today, Dainik Jagran and SBI Credit Card. He joins Grey Delhi from Contract advertising which saw him handle clients like Suzuki, Microsoft, NIIT, Honda, Greenpeace and Whirlpool India Ltd.
 
Amit has won several national and international creative awards which has been featured extensively in Luerzer’s Archive. His creative work for Jivanjor adhesives was the first Indian piece of creative to feature on the cover of Archive. He won the India Today award for his work on the ‘My India My Pride’ campaign.
 
On his appointment, Amit Shankar said, "This is going to be a bit of a homecoming for me actually. Grey was where I learned much as a junior from some exceptional minds in the business. Now it’s a privilege for me to lead the place. I am also looking forward to working with Malvika and Amit who are incredibly talented people and have a great vision for Grey, as well as Ketan, who I have worked with before. Grey does have some really good clients and I am looking forward to working alongside them."
 
Jishnu Sen, COO, Grey India, said, "Amit joining is part of the overall strategy of building a really strong Creative Team. It also coincides with our Delhi operation picking up steam. We have very ambitious plans for Delhi and I am looking forward to Amit working with Ketan Desai in an effort to realise that ambition."
