Katy Perry Rocks for Relief on November 14

She’s kissed a girl, gone hot and cold, and now Katy Perry puts her money where her mouth is and giving it to those who need it more.

Together with presenters Music Management International (MMI) and radio station U92, “Katy Perry Rocks for Relief” concert in Manila will serve as a fundraising gig for the benefit of typhoon victims in the country.

The event’s net proceeds will be donated to the Philippine National Red Cross. Booths will be placed at the concert grounds to serve as drop off points for donation.

During a press conference, Katy Perry expressed how grateful she is to be part of this relief effort.
“I’m glad that I can be here and do something more than just sing. I’m glad I can help out,” she said. “I think it’s wonderful. They gave me the opportunity to be more hands-on and go out to help people who were really affected by the landslides and the flooding,” she said.

Other artists supporting the cause include Arnel Pineda and Neal Schon of the international band The Journey, and the American rock Band MAE (Multi-sensory Aesthetic Experience).

Performing as well is Jed Madela, who too was a victim of the typhoon, “Instead of being sad about it, I try to help in my own little way. I’m happy to be here, doing something to help out those who really lost more than what I did,” he said.

Katy Perry Rocks for Relief concert is set on November 14, 8PM at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Ground.  For tickets, go to www.ticketworld.com.ph or call at 891-9999.
