Leo Burnett Melbourne’s John Bright to head Digital at WhybinTBWATEQUILA

ASIA-PACIFIC – MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA, SEPTEMBER 09, 2011: Mark Watkin, Managing Director of Whybin\TBWA\TEQUILA in Melbourne has announced the appointment of John Bright as Head of Digital.
 
Bright, originally from the UK, has strong experience leading key accounts within digital agencies such as POKE and Glue in London. He has accumulated over 14 years experience in the interactive arena working across brands including Orange, Yahoo, Yell, The British Royal Marines and Royal Navy, Adidas, McDonald’s, Virgin Money, McCain, Mazda, T-Mobile and The Royal Mail.
 
Most recently, Bright was Head of Digital at Leo Burnett Melbourne producing campaigns for brands such as Nintendo, Giant Bikes, Hallmark, Chrysler, General Mills and SEEK.
 
Commenting on the appointment, Watkin said, “John has great experience across some diverse brands and categories working for two leading UK digital agencies. He’s passionate about the digital space but really understands the importance of integration. Above all John’s a great chap and we’re excited to welcome him on board.”
 
Bright said, “The new team assembled at Whybin\TBWA\TEQUILA is very impressive and I feel both honoured and excited to be joining them. Also, the clients have a genuine desire to broaden and evolve their digital offerings so I would predict some next level work coming out of Melbourne in the very near future.”
 
The appointment follows a number of recent high profile hires including Damian Royce as Digital Creative Director and Paul Reardon as Executive Creative Director. Bright will commence his new role at the beginning of September.
