PANATA Awards puts values ahead of market share; deadline extended to December 22

The Philippine Association of National Advertisers (PANA) launches the PANATA Awards 2009.  Initiating the annual program that recognizes outstanding marketing communication materials or campaigns that promote positive Filipino values, PANA remains true to its advocacy, “Truth in Advertising.”

“The PANATA Awards encourages member companies, composed of the top advertisers in the country, to develop communication campaigns that promote exemplary Filipino values by recognizing and rewarding the effectiveness of their campaigns,” says PANA President Charmaine Canillas.


Championing traditional Filipino values reflected in marketing or advertising communications such as love of family, respect for elders, philanthropy, volunteerism, love of country, among other related traits, the PANATA awards starts 2010 with a different kind of bang.

Open exclusively to PANA members, the awards have six categories: advertising (TV, cinema, radio, print, tri-media, ambient), direct marketing (mailers, collaterals and sales kits), interactive / internet marketing, sales promotions (consumer, trade), public relations and special events.
 
The inclusion of cinema advertising was recently included as eligible media, with Advertising and Marketing Services as the two main categories of the PANATA Awards.

Inextricably industry-entwined, PANATA will also recognize creative merit, and will award ad agencies of Platinum and Gold winners with certificates.

Judging is two-tiered. At the preliminary stage, entries go through PANA member judges.  The shortlisted entries then proceed to the final stage under non-PANA judges. 

Eligible materials cover the period from October 2008 to October 2009. 

Interested parties can submit entries to the PANA secretariat, along with the official entry form on or before the deadline of December 22, 2009 at 5PM.  Application forms are available from the PANA website www.pana.com.ph or through the PANA Secretariat at 8940012.
