TBWASANTIAGO MANGADA PUNO creates a campaign for Manila Design Week that you can really sink your teeth into

PHILIPPINES – AUGUST 18, 2010 – Design enthusiasts are sitting back and digesting after a busy week of consuming graphic design during the annual Manila Design Week. The week-long festival, which wrapped up on Friday, August 13, aims to promote the significance and value of graphic design.
 
Manila Design Week has grown from a small gathering of graphic design enthusiasts to a large-scale event attended by students and design fans from all disciplines. In the past, design icons such as Stefan Sagmeister and Toki Doki have attended Manila Design Week.

This year’s theme, “Design Everyday,” was translated into a creative brief with the proposition of “consuming design every day.”
 
For the campaign, TBWA\SANTIAGO MANGADA PUNO created a TVC for Manila Design Week featuring different people actually eating graphic design. To invite people to the festival, edible direct mailers made of wafer paper and soy ink were sent out.
 
The highlight of the campaign was a 10×6 foot mural comprised of 13,500 lollipops, which was displayed for the opening day of Manila Design Week, before guests were invited to consume the mural. All 13,500 lollipops were devoured in 15 minutes.
