Families ‘re-meet’ in Cebuana Lhuillier’s new TV spots

MANILA, MAY 16, 2013 – Ace Saatchi & Saatchi and Cebuana Lhullier bank on the familiar Filipino tale of a family member leaving home for greener pastures, with a new series of TV spots featuring actor Coco Martin.
 

The ad showcases a two-part surprise for lucky Cebuana Lhuillier patrons receiving remittances from loved ones, including one Angelina Abuyen. She is astounded when popular Filipino actor Coco Martin emerges from the back office to process her remittance himself – and then floored when Martin, instead of simply presenting her with the money she claimed, brings out her son, who had been working in Dubai since 2011, to personally hand her the money he sent her.
 
Coco Martin, popularly known as "the prince of Philippine independent films" and "the primetime prince of Philippine television", was a natural choice to star in Cebuana Lhuillier’s new ad, having toiled abroad to help provide for his family before having become a star. As Jean Henri Lhuillier, Cebuana Lhuillier President and CEO explains, Martin thus embodies the working class and the modern heroes the Philippines holds dear.
