Tony Prehn hands over the reins of Lowe Thailand to Jeremy Hine

ASIA-PACIFIC – BANGKOK, THAILAND, MARCH 2011 – Tony Prehn, CEO of Lowe Thailand, has announced his retirement and the appointment of Jeremy Hine as his successor.

Tony’s three-decade career has been spent in the beginning, at Lintas, now Lowe + Partners, making him a rarity in the job-hopping world of advertising. He is widely respected by his staff, clients and the industry. Prehn is credited with setting up what is now Lowe’s first agency in China, in 1992 and has held posts in Indonesia, Taiwan and Vietnam, where he was MD in 2000.

Lowe Thailand’s new CEO, Jeremy Hine, has been at Lowe + Partners since 2000. He has led international business from the outset, including HSBC and the multi award winning Stella Artois Global account, from London. Jeremy also led the team that took Stella Artois digital for the first time, resulting in a slew of international awards.  He ran the InBev business for two years, during which time he led the team that won the global Beck’s beer business.

In 2008, he was appointed to Director, CEE and Russia for Lowe + Partners, responsible for running nine Lowe agencies (including advertising agencies, activation companies and media agencies) across four core countries the region.  He was also responsible for Lowe + Partners affiliates in an additional eleven markets. Most recently, he took on the additional role of Global Business Director, Unilever Oral Care.

Charuvarn Vanasin, who retired as Lowe Thailand Chairperson in 2009 becoming Chairman Emeritus, remains in that role, working alongside Hine.

CEO of Lowe + Partners, Michael Wall said: “Tony is a hard act to follow. However, there are many similarities I believe between Jeremy and Tony, both in personality and approach, which I believe will set him in good stead in Thailand."

Prehn commented: “There can be no regrets when I look back at the wonderful career opportunities that I have had with Lowe over 25 years. I’ve worked with some astoundingly talented people who all share a passion for brilliant creative. That’s a key chromosome in the Lowe DNA and there is no better candidate to carry-on the role of CEO Lowe Thailand than Jeremy. He’s taking on the best job in the network and I wish him every success.”

Jeremy Hine added: “Tony and I have had an extended handover period and I appreciate the time he has given me to share his knowledge – I have a very clear view of my new role and I very much looking forward to building on Tony’s legacy, as well as bringing my own ideas to the job. This is a great agency, one I have admired in our network for many years and I feel very proud to have been asked to lead it.”
