Wunderman Thompson’s three key appointments strengthen its technology and content capabilities in APAC

SINGAPORE – Wunderman Thompson announces three key appointments across technology and content with Hasan Hasnie, Geoff Smeaton and Nicholas Yeam joining the regional leadership team.

Hasan Hasnie joins the agency as Chief Technology Officer after nearly 19 years in Digital & Technology Consulting at Accenture. Most recently as a Managing Director at Accenture Song, Hasnie has led the architecture and delivery of complex digital platforms for clients around the world including several large transformation programs.

Hasnie grew up, studied, and began his career in New York City. He has since traveled the world extensively, along with several work-initiated postings in many North American cities, Africa, and Southeast Asia. As Chief Technology Officer, Hasnie will work closely with clients as a strategic partner helping enable growth in their organization, as well as focusing on deepening the agencies current technology capability set.

Wunderman Thompson Australia’s Chief Technology Officer, Geoff Smeaton, steps into an expanded role as Head of Technology for the region with a focus on delivery. After more than 20 years working in the IT industry across several different sectors and over 14 years working with e-commerce, Smeaton has extensive experience providing technical and architectural leadership on highly complex projects with varying scales of size and complexity.

The hires are part of Wunderman Thompson’s regional strategy to continue to invest in deepening the agency’s technology capability across the region. Currently in Asia Pacific, Wunderman Thompson Technology is made up of 530 Engineers, 90 UX/UI Designers, 40 Data Specialists and 30 Consultants – all contributing to the 500 platforms the agency has built for brands globally, that have generated $29 billion in revenue for clients.

In addition, Nicholas Yeam has joined Wunderman Thompson in the position of Head of Content, APAC. With nearly a decade of experience in digital and content production, Nicholas joins the agency to lead and grow Wunderman Thompson Studios in the region – the digital and content production arm that runs and optimises marketing ecosystems for clients through a borderless network of global studios. As Content Lead for APAC, Nicholas will continue to drive growth for Studios by delivering efficient and high-quality content solutions and operations for clients – bridging the gap between inspiration and execution for brands.

Prior to Wunderman Thompson, Nicholas lead production and operations as Executive Producer at Huge and spent time at Media.Monks and Hogarth Worldwide. He’s built retained teams and operations for multiple FAANG clients while delivering large-scale experiential activations for the likes of SK-II.​

Nicholas Yeam added: “It’s an exciting time to be joining the team, as we’re observing a period of transformation in the content landscape.
