It was a good year for Asia at this year’s New York Festivals, where the region garnered 97 finalists in five major categories.
Overall, results tended to echo ADFEST. JWT Shanghai’s ‘Shan Shui,’, Burnett India’s campaign for Bajaj Fans, and BBDO Malaysia’s Jeep work all received multiple finalists; Japan maintained its dominance of both TV and Interactive/Digital, with an amazing 18 finalists in the latter category that included both web and mobile.
Other strong showings were China in Outdoor, India in print and Korea in Interactive; China, India, Japan, Singapore and Thailand generally had finalists spread across all five categories.
Yet to announce finalists are Avant-Garde, Design, Collateral, Mixed media, Student and Art & Technique. Winners for all categories will be announced in June.
