A new creative director and head of digital for TBWATEQUILAHong Kong

ASIA-PACIFIC – HONG KONG, MAY 2011 – In a move to further enhance the agency’s creative model, TBWA\TEQUILA\Hong Kong has appointed Lincoln Damen as Creative Director and Luke Eid as Head of Digital.

The two appointments are part of a structural shift towards the goal of being a creative company rather than an advertising agency – one that disrupts the conventional model and focuses on further integration with one bottom line and one management team. With digital embedded at the core of TBWA\TEQUILA\Hong Kong; and as digital agency of record for many brands; client work has shifted from ‘lines’ to innovative and creative marketing solutions that deliver strong results.

Eid joins from Australian digital media and creative agency, Socialista Media Group, where he was General Manager. Previously he spent three years at TEQUILA\Sydney as Digital Business Director for the award-winning agency.

Reporting to Joanne Lao, Managing Director of TBWA\TEQUILA\Hong Kong, Eid will spearhead digital leadership and innovation across the entire agency and with senior clients.

In his new role as Creative Director, Damen will lead multiple integrated accounts and report to Executive Creative Director, Mark Ringer.

Damen joins TBWA\TEQUILA\Hong Kong from the network’s Shanghai office where he was Digital Creative Director for the past three years, building a strong digital team and creating award winning digital work for major network clients such as McDonald’s.

Prior to working with TBWA, Damen was the Multimedia Director for Ogilvy One Beijing.

“As a self-confessed ‘Tech-Geek,’ it is no surprise that Lincoln has top flight digital credentials,” commented Ringer. “However, as we’ve worked together on projects for TBWA\Greater China, it has become clear that he is also a fine art director and a leader who inspires our team. He is the embodiment of the post-digital creative leader for a post-digital creative company.”

Commenting on the two senior appointments, Lao said, “We are shifting towards operating as a ‘Creative Collaborative’ for our clients, uniting all disciplines under Disruption and Media Arts, our global strategic methodologies. This approach creates strategic brand leaders within the agency combined with best-in-class expertise across different disciplines, including digital. The result has been creative and innovative groundbreaking work that is rooted in brand behavior. With Lincoln and Luke’s appointments, we are strengthening and accelerating this agency model.”
