The 8th National Children’s Book Awards sets submission deadline of February 28

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — In a move that has the Philippine literary community abuzz, the National Book Development Board (NBDB) and the Philippine Board on Books for Young People (PBBY) have rolled out the red carpet for the 8th National Children’s Book Awards (NCBA). This biennial event, a beacon of inspiration in the realm of Philippine children’s and young adult literature, is now accepting nominations.

Celebrating the rich tapestry of storytelling and creativity, the NCBA spotlights a diverse array of genres, from imaginative picture books to compelling young adult narratives and even graphic novels and comics. It’s more than just an award; it’s a celebration of the Filipino spirit captured within the pages of children’s and young adult books.

This year’s nominations are open to works published in the Philippines by an NBDB-registered publisher in 2022 or 2023. The deadline for submission is on February 28 at 2:00 pm.
