Asia shines at 2025 D&AD Awards with 127 Pencils; China claims 37

LONDON, UK – After days of rigorous deliberation by over 300 international judges across 44 juries, the 2025 D&AD Awards selected 668 Pencil-worthy entries from a total of 11,689 submissions — comprising more than 30,000 individual pieces of work.

adobo Magazine crunched the numbers and found that out of the 668 Pencils awarded globally at the 2025 D&AD Awards, 127 Pencils went to campaigns from Asia and the Middle East. China led the region with 37 wins, followed by Japan with 24 and India with 11.

While the majority of these were Wood Pencils, the region also secured 31 Graphite Pencils, recognizing work that pushed boundaries and demonstrated exceptional craft. Only six Yellow Pencils were awarded in the region.

China took home two Yellow Pencils, while Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, and Korea each earned one, underscoring the standout quality of work emerging from across the region.
