MANILA – For most women in the creative profession, hands are like sacred tools used in turning ideas into tangible works of art. From writing and drawing to styling and creating music, we always see a pair of busy hands crafting something out of personal passions. Sleek fingers holding a pen or a paintbrush and colorful nails on camera lens or turntable can draw the most attention and would make for interesting subjects that represent individuality and style.

What if we empower these hardworking hands with intricate nail aesthetics that will inspire them to do more? Amy Oung, designer and international ambassador of global nail care brand ORLY loves to do just that: make people happy by taking care of their nails.

“It feels good to make people feel good. I love touching people’s lives,” says Amy as she shares the joy and beauty of educating women on nail care and empowering salon professionals through her inspiring nail art and design workshops.

She talked with pride and excitement as she revealed a new innovation in nail care technology found in Orly’s latest product, the GELFX Builder in a Bottle. Launched internationally in the Philippines this month, Builder in a Bottle is an all in-one soak-off sculpting gel for nail extensions. It has superior self-leveling quality, flexible strength and a crystal clear formula that makes it a perfect blank canvas for color application and detailed nail art.

In its recent bohemian-themed grand launch held at The Blue Leaf Cosmopolitan in Quezon City, ORLY celebrated its “Strength in Color” campaign and recognized extraordinary women making a splash in their own creative fields. Dubbed “extraORLYnary” women, six of the most colorful and inspiring social media personalities who embody strength of character by staying true to their craft were in the spotlight: photographer Shaira Luna, djs Sanya Smith and Ornusa Cadness, artist and author Abbey Sy, illustrator Soleil Ignacio, and master makeup artist Georginna Desuasido.

These trailblazing women, who often use their hands in their work, showcased their own brand of creativity, uniqueness and fun through conceptual booths reflective of ORLY’s stunning colors and empowering vibe. Imagine Neon Earth (Summer 2018 collection) with Sands of Time and Valley of Fire to Pastel City (Spring 2018 collection) that carries Pink Noise and Electric Jungle coming to life and inspiring a connected bohemian community.

In a panel discussion moderated by Tim Yap, these “extraORLYnary” women talked about how they empower themselves and others by staying true to who they are and pursuing what they are passionate about.

Nail art grand winner

When asked how creative they can get with their nails and if in any way, do pretty nails contribute anything to what they love to do? While these ladies say that they can manage with or without nail color, most of them admit that styling nails is fun and can give that kind of boost while they get busy with their craft. “Besides, beautiful polished nails always look good on Instagram every time I share my works,” quips Abbey.
